The first Cross Country race of the Singapore (SACA) MTB Series was held in Bukit Timah on the 19th March 2006. This 6.5 km course runs along the perimeter of the Nature Reserve, one of the few nature reserve that’s left in Singapore.
This race course in generally a high – speed course that requires the riders to dismount from the bike to jump over barriers as well as run up a series of stairs. Great endurance and technical skills are requires from the riders who race this demanding course . Emerging tops in ladies elite category is Risa Suseanty from Indonesia, defeating a strong field of riders that includes 2005 Singapore National MTB Champion, Nur Asmah.
